Getting Free 2 User License Key File

Step 1. Launch the Userful "About" dialog
=========================================

After installing Desktop Multiplier or Desktop Server, launch the graphical
activation tool. The location of the application's menu entry varies depending
on your distribution:

    * (Desktop Server/Fedora/Redhat/Ubuntu) Applications -> System Tools ->
                                            Userful
    * (SuSE) Applications -> Utilities -> More Programs -> Userful
    * (NLD) Applications -> Accessories -> More -> Userful

The graphical activation tool should be launched from the multi-station
computer to which the license will be installed.

Note: If the Userful "About" dialog does not appear in a GUI menu, the dialog
can be run from the command line using: /usr/share/1box-utils/about-dialog.py.
If the dialog does not display due to a missing python interpreter or other
dependencies, follow the command line options in each step below.

Step 2. Launch the Graphical Activation Tool
============================================

The Userful licensing process requires Internet access.

In the Userful "About" dialog, click the [Register] button, this will launch
the activation tool. The activation tool accepts an activation code or
launches the on-line Userful license activation tool which generates an
activation code.

Step 3. License Activation Tool
===============================

If you have an activation code, skip to step 7.

If you do not have an activation code, you will first need to register to
obtain one. Click the [Launch Browser to get activation code] button to start
the registration process using your web browser.

The browser submits basic system information required to create an appropriate
license file, including the system's MAC address, the Linux distribution and
version, and installed video cards to Userful's on-line licensing server.

Note: The command line equivalent is the /usr/share/1box-utils/register.sh
script. This will either launch a web browser or provide a URL for you to
follow to complete the web based registration process.

The licensing server will walk you through steps 4 through 6 to complete
your registration:

Step 4. Read and Accept the Userful License Agreement
=====================================================

The Userful License Agreement describes mutual rights and obligations. You
must accept the license agreement in order to obtain a license. Accept the
license agreement by clicking the "Yes" option box, and then clicking the
"Next" button.

Step 5. Complete the User Registration Form
===========================================

The registration form tells us where to send you an activation code and allows
us to better provide subscription based support services. All fields on this
form are required including a valid e-mail address in order for you to receive
your license key file. (Note: Userful does not provide this information to any
third parties).

Step 6. Receive Activation Code
===============================

A confirmation message containing your unique activation code will be sent to
the e-mail address you provided. If you are unable to receive mail at the
e-mail address you provided, or if you have not received your activation code
within 30 minutes of requesting a license, please contact us at
license-support@userful.com for assistance.

Step 7. Enter Activation Code
=============================

Re-launch the activation tool if it is not already running from step 2. You
can do this by launching the "About" dialog and clicking the [Register] (see
steps 1 & 2 above). Enter the activation code into the application and
click [Activate]. The Userful licensing application automatically downloads,
installs and activates your license key file.

Note: This activation process can also be run from the command line. To do
this, run the install-license.sh script providing your activation code as the
only argument. For example, /usr/share/1box-utils/install-license.sh 12345678.
If the activation was successful, it will install the license key file and
display a success message. If the activation was not successful, it will
display a message returned from the server.
